Introduction to Motivational Interviewing Presentation

I did an in-service video presentation for the clinic I work at following a two-day course called Introduction to Motivational Interviewing for Helping Professionals, offered at University of British Columbia at Robson Square by Change Talk Associates.

Motivational interviewing (MI) is an approach for influencing behaviour and creating behaviour change. I was first introduced to MI thanks to Precision Nutrition.

The presentation was created for my colleagues, most of whom work in an occupational rehab program, where the goal is to help injured workers rehabilitate from their injuries and return to their pre-injury work. The Motivational Interviewing approach is relevant for everyone who wants to influence the behaviour of others.

Though it is a video of a PowerPoint presentation, you can simply listen to the audio as well. This presentation is by no means in-depth, but does provide an introduction to key concepts and ideas in the Motivational Interviewing approach.
